About Me
My name is Trevor Schoonover, I am a mentor for adults and adolescents focusing on mental health. I've been married for 3 years to my beautiful wife Katie. My interests include weightlifting, running, reading fiction, and I dabble in video games. I was born in Texas but grew up in Colorado Springs and I had to leave Colorado to realize how much I loved it. I spent a few years in Georgia where I realized how many bugs Colorado DOESN’T have. Anyways, I spent 5 years in the Army where I had a short but very eventful career. I successfully completed: Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) and the Ranger School leadership course. This time of my life shaped my understanding of both brokenness and resilience, teaching me how strength is often built through struggle. After 2 deployments in Afghanistan the war ended and I decided to enter the civilian world and work in mental health and substance abuse at various treatment centers. I was drawn to start this mentorship through years of client feedback affirming the impact of my guidance, insightfulness, and support. I have always had a passion for mental health as my mother is a licensed counselor herself. I have gleaned much from her and see the need to be someone that people can trudge through the harder parts of life with.
